The Belgians are one of the
best brewers of beer in the world. They grew some the best beer styles, and
they have world-class breweries. But when you think of Belgian style beer you
don’t think of Canada. But one of the best Belgian style breweries is in Chambly
Québec Canada, Unibroue. This is their Belgian Triple La Fin Du Monde, 9.0%
ABV. Which translates to the end of the world. A Belgian Triple is made with
three types of yeast, hence the name triple. La Fin Du Monde pours an orange
color with a fizzy one and a half finger white head that fizzes kind of slowly.
There is tons of carbonation bubbles here and this beer is very effervescent. I
found very low amounts of light coming through the goblet. The aroma is big
with yeast bread with a hint of a faint biscuit scent. I also found there to be
a slight fruity aroma that was somewhat crisp like maybe an apple. The taste on
Triple La Fin Du Monde is nice, and has a slight spicy sweet taste up front
then a yeast taste towards the middle. There is crisp Champagne grape flavor as
well, yet I do find a tart apple taste here as well that goes well with the
Champagne grape. The mouth feel is medium with a nice slightly boozy yet crisp
sweet finish, that leads into a nice aftertaste that is slightly spicy yeasty
and semi fruity. This is a world-class beer from a world-class brewery. So I am
giving this A. Triple La Fin Du Monde is a well-balanced and well-crafted
Triple. This is one of my favorite beers and styles. If you haven’t had Triple
La Fin Du Monde or any Unibroue beers, then go and try this and all of their
other beers. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
