Rogue Sriracha HOT Stout Beer

I haven’t had to many chili beers but they do sound somewhat interesting in my opinion. One in particular that I’ve had my eye on for a little while now made from Huy Fong original hot chili sauce or Sriracha. This is Rogue Sriracha HOT Stout Beer, 5.7% ABV with 55 IBU. The whole bottle looks just like an original Sriracha bottle even the cap is green. This Rogue Sriracha Stout pours a black color with a tan/beige four-finger rocky head that stay for a long time before fading into somewhat thick lacing. I could see no light or carbonation due to the darkness of this beer. The aroma on this Rogue Stout is spicy with chili/Sriracha and the tiniest bit of roasted noted. But the chili spice over shadows them. The taste is at first quickly roasted follow immediately by a chili spice that coats to your tongue and sticks in your throat. As this stout warms the spicy note become more present and the roasted noted fade. The mouth feel is medium but spicy and the finish and the aftertaste are spicy. It coats the back of your mouth and stays with you all the way down. The spice does trail off just a bit in the finish but not as much as you’d probably like it to. Overall Rogue Sriracha HOT Stout Beer is interesting but I would say it is great. This is a C beer. I was hoping for more roasted notes to this and not as much of the Sriracha chili. But it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t get better as you drank it. It stays around average with every sip. It goes well with food. That kind of helps it a bit. By itself it’s okay. Interesting beer with a popular chili spice, which I think is a good idea. It just sounds better than it actually is. So go and try Rogue Sriracha HOY Stout Beer and see what you think of it. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
