It’s here it’s here Foothills
IPA of the Month July (Seamus and Marlowe), 5.8% ABV and 63 IBU (International
Bittering Unit). This month’s dog or dogs are a bit of a celebrity well that is
because of their famous owner Will Wheaton, from the movie Stand By Me and such
television shows as Star Trek The Next Generation as Wesley Crusher and from
more recently The Big Bang Theory as himself. He is also a craft beer nerd as
well. July pours a hazy light gold color with a four and half finger white
fluffy head that is really slow to fade but when it finally does there is great
lacing left behind. I found there to be some light coming through the glass
with nice amounts of carbonation. The aroma on this July IPA is fresh with
grapefruit and little bit of lemon with a slight grassy note. The taste is
closer to how the aroma is with a nice fresh citrus grapefruit flavor and hints
of earthy grass notes. But toward the back of the mouth it becomes more of a
faint lemon taste. There isn’t a hoppy note on at the very end, this IPA goes
not smoother that other IPAs. The mouth feel is light with a bit of a
refreshing quality to it that helps make it a good one. July has a nice smooth
earthy grapefruit finish that is the slightest bit tart and then you get an
nice earthy bitter aftertaste that ligers just enough. Foothills have brewed
yet another great IPA of the Month, and July is an A+. I loved how refreshing
it was and how it as more drinkable than some IPAs. It had a smoother finish that
really made it great. I could find nothing with this IPA. I highly recommend
Foothills Brewing IPA of the Month July or any of the months in the IPA series.
Please go and try them all! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
