Once again Foothills Brewing
Co. hop of the Month is back this month for August it’s Citra India Pale Ale,
6.7% ABV and 75 IBUs (International Bittering Units). Crita is a more topical
tasting hop more commonly used in west coast style American IPAs. A distinguished
parentage of German, British and American hop varieties was bred to create
Citra and its uniquely intense aroma profile. Citra India Pale Ale pours orange
color with a big four finger foamy white head that slowly dissipates into thick
lacing. You can really smell all the tropical fruits on the as soon as you poor
it into a glass. You get nice juicy pineapple, grapefruit, mango, lemon and
little bit of orange. If you know Footshills Jade IPA then you should know this
beer. Citra India Pale Ale smells amazing. Now the taste on this is pretty good
itself you get big tropical notes like mango, lemon, grapefruit and bit of
orange with nice bitterness on the back with some slight earthy notes. Mouth feel is meduim. The
finish is smooth with some fruity yet faintly earthy bitterness that leads into
a bitter tropical fruit after taste that linger just enough until the next sips
washes over your taste buds. Foothills Brewing Co. did it again like I know
they would with this Hop of the Month Crita India Pale Ale. This is an A+,
something that it totally worth trying for yourself. Everything about this beer
is well balance and well brewed. They really knocked it out of the park with
this month Hop of the Month. I highly recommend trying it! Cheers! Please enjoy
responsibly!
