It’s back again for November
Foothills Brewing Hop of the Month, Eureka India Pale Ale, 7.0% ABV with 81
IBUs. I know you say what happened to October? Well most store around me
stopped carrying Hop of the Month for very short while, one month. I don’t know
why that is but they did. Anyhow, Eureka is pungent and powerful aroma hop and
is a bit of a throwback to the days of predominantly piney hops that are
resinous and dense. Eureka India Pale Ale pours light amber color with a big
four finger blooming head that slowly dissipates in to chunky lacing. The aroma
is strong with hoppy notes as well as hints of citrus, herbal and floral notes.
Eureka has a nice floral taste up front followed by a piney note that is
closely followed by an oniony notes that has a bit of a hoppy flavor to it. The
mouth feel is medium with hints of a faint fullness. Eureka finishes with a
pine hoppy bite and a dank onion after taste. This one wasn’t as hoppy as I
though it was going to be. I give Eureka India Pale Ale a B+. I like this to
has a bit more of a hoppy flavor to this without being overly hoppy and bitter.
But I really enjoyed This Foothills brewing Hop of the Month Eureka India Pale
Ale. You have to like IPA’s to enjoy this one, not something you’d have for a
first IPA. But Still an IPA you should try! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
