I have received another beer
from Brewpublik (www.brewpublik.com).
This canned beer comes from Stillwater Artisanal in Stratford Connecticut. This
is Classique Post Modern Beer, 4.5% ABV. Classique is a Farmhouse Ale/Saison.
Stillwater uses corn and rice in this beer along with pilsner malts, old school
American hops and farmhouse ale yeast. I really couldn’t find out what types of
American hops were used here. Classique pours a light yellow color that is a
bit hazy with a two-finger head that somewhat slow to dissipate and does leave
behind some decent lacing. I found little amounts of light coming through the
glass around nice carbonation. The aroma is nice with a mild yeast scent with
hints of very faint funky lemon. I would say the aroma is not over the top but
nice. Now the taste is smooth and funky with a slight faint tartness that comes
in upfront and is gone soon as it comes in. There is a bit of a slight yeast
flavor in the middle of the mouth and more funkiness on the back. The mouthfeel is light and refreshing with a cleaner/smoother finish that starts and
aftertaste of a yeasty and funky lemon flavor that lingers for just a second or
two then becomes faintly tart. I found Classique to be refreshing and
sessionable. I give this beer an A. It is not overly flavorful but it has just
enough flavors to make it enjoyable. Some farmhouse ales have too many funky
flavors and tend to overwhelm one's taste buds. But Classique is just right. I
do recommend try Stillwater Artisanal Classique Post Modern Beer. Cheers!
Please enjoy responsibly!

Foothills Brewing IPA of the Month July (Seamus and Merlowe)
It’s here it’s here Foothills
IPA of the Month July (Seamus and Marlowe), 5.8% ABV and 63 IBU (International
Bittering Unit). This month’s dog or dogs are a bit of a celebrity well that is
because of their famous owner Will Wheaton, from the movie Stand By Me and such
television shows as Star Trek The Next Generation as Wesley Crusher and from
more recently The Big Bang Theory as himself. He is also a craft beer nerd as
well. July pours a hazy light gold color with a four and half finger white
fluffy head that is really slow to fade but when it finally does there is great
lacing left behind. I found there to be some light coming through the glass
with nice amounts of carbonation. The aroma on this July IPA is fresh with
grapefruit and little bit of lemon with a slight grassy note. The taste is
closer to how the aroma is with a nice fresh citrus grapefruit flavor and hints
of earthy grass notes. But toward the back of the mouth it becomes more of a
faint lemon taste. There isn’t a hoppy note on at the very end, this IPA goes
not smoother that other IPAs. The mouth feel is light with a bit of a
refreshing quality to it that helps make it a good one. July has a nice smooth
earthy grapefruit finish that is the slightest bit tart and then you get an
nice earthy bitter aftertaste that ligers just enough. Foothills have brewed
yet another great IPA of the Month, and July is an A+. I loved how refreshing
it was and how it as more drinkable than some IPAs. It had a smoother finish that
really made it great. I could find nothing with this IPA. I highly recommend
Foothills Brewing IPA of the Month July or any of the months in the IPA series.
Please go and try them all! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
Saranac Brewing Blueberry Blonde Ale
Blonde ales are always a good
style that can have a wide range of styles. Some breweries brew blonde
ales with fruit that usually present in the spring or summer times of the year,
and can be popular. Here we have one example Saranac Brewing Blueberry Blonde Ale, 5.0%
ABV. This beer was bought because it can in the cool looking one quart,
thirty-two ounces, or 0.946353 liters. This is a small growler that can be
refilled with more delicious beer.
Saranac makes other beers in this one-quart bottle, like Our Pumpkin
Ale, and this one. Saranac is located in Utica New York and is part of the F.X.
Matt Brewing Co. Blueberry Blonde Ale pours a golden color with a two finger
bright white head that slowly dissipates into fine whips of good lacing. I
found nice amounts of lights streaming in through the glass with nice
carbonation. The aroma reminds me of fresh blueberries and a bit of a blueberry
pastry. The taste is light with ale and big blueberry upfront, but you don’t
get very much tartness from the blueberries. The middle of the mouth get just a
tick more of a tartness for a second or two, then towards the back, it all fades
into a nice refreshing sweetness. The mouthfeel is light and refreshing, with
a nice sweet blueberry finish that leads down to an aftertaste of sticky
somewhat tart blueberry flavor. This is quite good. I would say Saranac Blueberry
Blonde Ale is a B. It’s good, easy to drink, and refreshing but after many of
these I think the blueberry flavor would get to be a bit much and you’d have to
move on to another different beer. But I did go through and enjoy this entire
small growler myself. But I think thirty-two ounces is just the right amount to
enjoy on a warm spring or hot summer day. I recommend trying Saranac Blueberry
Blonde Ale for you. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

New Belgium Snapshot Wheat Ale
I always like a good wheat
beer but not all wheat beers are going to be good. They are a popular style and
most breweries do brew wheat ale. Wheat ales can be refreshing on a hot day or
any day. New Belgium brews one, Snapshot Wheat Ale, 5.0% ABV. This is more of pale
wheat ale. Pale wheat’s are easier to drink than the heavier wheat beers out
there. Snapshot pours a light yellow color with a two finger white head that dissipates
down to half finger head then stays. Some lacing is left behind, but it thin at
best. I found minimal light coming through with decent carbonation bubbles.
Snapshot has a nice aroma that is almost lemony smell with a nice but faint
breaded wheat scent. Taste of Snapshot is like a lighter or pale version of
wheat ale. You get a little lemon like flavor up front with faint wheat flavors
and some yeasted bready notes towards the back that linger just a little. The
mouth feel is light to almost medium with a nice refreshing finish of sweet
flavors and an after taste of more of the finish that light long enough to
enjoy. Snapshot is an easy drinking beer and refreshing as well. But it’s not
the best I’ve ever had so I only give New Belgium Snapshot Wheat Ale B-. I am
not a big fan of pale wheat beers. I rather have a regular wheat beer or a
Hefeweizen. But I some like this one. Snapshot isn’t bad, and yes I would recommend
trying it. There isn’t a thing wrong with it. I just prefer more heartier wheat
ales. I would also have this again. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

Castle Brewery St. Louis Framboise Premium Lambic
Lambic is a type of beer
traditionally brewed in the Pajottenland region of Belgium and in Brussels.
This type of beer is usually spontaneously fomented and has a tart/sour taste
to them due to being brewed with fruits such a raspberries, cherries, strawberries,
peaches, grapes and blackcurrant. Previously I have talked about aging beer.
This here is a three-year old bottle of Castle Brewery St. Louis Framboise
Premium Lambic, 4.5% ABV. The Caste Brewery is in Inglemunster Belgium in West
Flanders. Framboise is Belgian Lambic Ale brewed with raspberries. St. Louis
pours a deep dark red color with a red/pink thin bubbly two finger head that
quickly dissolves. The aroma is of sweet raspberries and raspberry juice. The
taste is not far of from the aroma; it is sweet and bubbly with big tart but
somewhat sweet raspberries. It is kind of similar to a cherry cola, well a
fruitier version of one. The aging of this does tone down the tartness on it a
bit and it is still a tiny bit tart but sweeter than a fresh bottle. The mouth
feel is medium and has a nice fruity sweet finish that sets up a nice slightly
tart raspberry aftertaste. I like this Lambic style of beer but I would not
have this all the time or make it a ‘go to’ beer. It’s not really what you
would think a beer is, but it’s really good. This Castle Brewery St. Louis
Famboise Premium Lambic is a B+ beer. I think that if you were to have more
than a pint or two of this the tartness would become a little to much for ones
self. But most Lambics are pretty low in the ABV department. This beer was easy
to drink and refreshing, that is good points for it. But after a while the
raspberry would become less interesting and you’d have to more on to something
else. But I would recommend that you try Castle Brewery St. Louis Framboise
Premium Lambic. Cheers! Please enjoy responsible!
