This beer that I have here,
Great Divide Brewing Co. Yeti imperial Stout, 9.5% ABV and 75 IBUs is a widely
popular stout. Great Divide is located in Denver Colorado. Yeti pours a pitch-black
color with a dark brown almost black six finger head that never goes away but
does shrink down a little. Nothing is visible though this beer. The aroma on
this big beer is like brunt coffee with a little bit of brunt toast and yet the
faintest scent of chocolate. Yeti has a big bold bitter roasted taste to it
that is a little harsh in my opinion. This beer has a whole burnt theme going
on with its taste and flavors that was off putting to me. Not enough roasted
notes to this nor was any coffee like notes present except for the overly
burned coffee flavor. I found this beer to be bad, bad like crappy cup of
strong bitter burned coffee that has been sitting out on the hot stove to long.
I didn’t like this one at all so I give this an F. I might be one of only a few
that does not like nor care for Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout. This beer didn’t
have a little bit of each flavor to help it. It was just in your face with a
burned flavor profile that I found displeasing and down right bitter. I would
not try this beer at all, so please don’t! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!

The Unknown Brewing Co. Vehopciraptor Double IPA
I am growing to like IPAs
more and more. A few years ago I wouldn’t have much to do with an IPA. But my
taste for them is changing. They have always been a popular beer style and
continue to grow in populararty There are many sub styles in the IPA category. The
Unknown Brewing Co. here in Charlotte North Carolina brews Vehopciraptor Double
IPA, 9.9% ABV. Double IPAs are IPAs with double the ingredients and ABV
percentage. Vehopciraptor is brewed with nine hope varieties and nice
additions. Vehopciraptor pours copper amber color with an off white three
finger head. The aroma is dank with big grapefruit and citrus. Vehopciraptor
has a big bold grapefruit taste with nice citrus notes and a little hop
bitterness. This double IPA has more of smoother taste than most double IPAs.
The finish is smooth and has a nice citrusy malted after taste that lingers
nicely. This is a surprising double IPA. I wouldn’t have expected it to be as
smooth as it was. I was thinking it was going to be a little more on the bitter
hoppy side, but it wasn’t. I give The Unknown Brewing Co. Vehopciraptor an A+.
It was such a wonderful beer. I would have this again and again. I highly
recommend this beer! It should be had! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
Coney Island Brewing Co. Hard Root Beer
Root Beer has always been a
popular favorite, and some of the brewers have been getting in on its
popularity by brewing hard root beer. Which is Beer that is like a root beer.
The Coney Island Brewing Co. in Brooklyn New York has jumped to and brewed Hard
Root Beer, 5.8% ABV. Hard Root Beer pours a light black color with a one and a
half finger of bubbly white head that quick fades into a thin white ring. The
aroma is sweet with vanilla and licorice. I found they’re to be not much light
coming through, but I did see a little bit of the carbonation there. This hard
root beer tastes what you expect it to taste like. There are plenty of vanilla
flavors with nice licorice and some birch flavors as well. This Coney Island
Hard Root Beer is a little better than Not Your Fathers Root Beer. The mouth
feel is light to medium, and has a nice sweet smooth finish with a sweet after
taste that leaves you wanting more. I loved this one and it’s an A+. This is
easy drinking and refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. But I
think if you drink six the flavor becomes a bit too much and you’d want to
switch to a different kind of beer. But not bad to drink a few of these though,
I highly recommend having Coney Island Hard Root Beer. Cheers! Please enjoy
responsibly!

Grand Teton Brewing Bitch Creek ESB Ale Extra Special Brown
Brown ales are one of my
favorite beer styles. They aren’t as heavy as a porter or stout but they can
and tend to have much similar qualities. Brown ales originated in England but
now are all over the world and are quite popular among beer drinkers. Bitch
Creek ESB Extra Special Brown, 6.0% ABV and 60 IBUs from Grand Teton Brewing in
Victor, Idaho is one brewers take on the brown ale style. This is a bottle-conditioned
beer. Bitch Creek pours a deep brown color, with one finger to one and a half
finger beige head that quickly disappears with no lacing left behind. There is
no light coming in or is they any visible signs of carbonation, The aroma is
sweet like a brown ale but with a little bit of a hoppy scent that lightly
lingers around the sweet toffee notes. Up fount Bitch Creek is a little different
with the taste with caramel and toffee notes with some subtle sweetness that
become a bit stronger on the middle of the tongue then bitters up a bit on the
back. I found the taste to be not what I’d like in brown ale. The mouth feel is
medium with a bitter finish and an after taste of bittersweet toffee and
caramel notes that thankfully fade quickly. I don’t think the bitterness of
Bitch Creek shouldn't be in this at all, so with that said Bitch Creek is a D-. It didn’t have any strong lingering sweetness that you’d get in a good brown ale
nor did have a silky, creamy texture. I just though this wasn’t good brown ale at all
nor was anyone part average. Bitterness should be a part of brown ale in my
opinion. It just does go well together. I don’t think one should try Grand
Teton Brewing Bitch Creek ESB Ale Extra Special Brown. Cheer! Please enjoy responsibly!

Birrifico Del Ducato & Abita Brewing Co. Two Boots Saison
I am growing a liking to
Saisons the more I have and I am looking out for them when I am beer shopping.
Two Boots Saison 6.2% ABV is a collaboration between two countries and their
great and celebrated breweries, Italy’s Birrificio Del Ducato and Louisiana’s
Abita Beer. The name is from the fast that both Italy and Louisiana are shaped like
boots. This saison is brewed with pepper, honey, lemon balm, pilsner and wheat
malts. Two boots pours a lighter gold color with a four finger pillowy white
head that sticks around for a while till fading into nice traces of lacing.
Minimal light shines through with nice carbonation. The aroma is nice with a
slight pepper and full honey with spots of lemon. Two Boots taste is yeasty
with lemon and pepper notes towards the middle and back of the tongue. I found
a bit of funky flavors on the end that wasn’t so bad but was also a bit mild in
flavor. The flavor on this is average at best but not bad. The mouth feel is medium
and has a nice spicy pepper finish and with a after taste of yeast pepper and
lemon. Overall this Two Boots Saison Collaboration is not so bad but there are
much better saisons out there. This is a C+ beer. I just think this is average
with out being on the bad side. But when you get towards the end of the bottle
it becomes a bit boring. I would have this again but not too soon though. Like
I said there are better saisons out there to have then this. Not bad though
just not as great as some. Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
