Shiner Birthday Beer Chocolate Stout

Today is a celebration of beer of sorts. The Shiner brewery down in Shiner Texas is celebrating 106 years in the business of brewing brew. So they decided to brew Birthday Beer Chocolate Stout, 5.0% ABV. This is a limited beer brewed with chocolate malt and real cocoa. Birthday Beers pours a rich black color with a beige/tan two-finger head that dissipates rather slower into thin lacing that doesn’t stay long.  I saw no light coming through and saw the bare minimum of carbonation bubbles. The big aroma is like a chocolate cake. I smelled the chocolate the minute the bottle cap came off.  It is a rather pleasing and inviting aroma to it. The taste is much the same as the aroma and it is not overly sweet of chocolaty. The head has a creamy taste to it. There's lots of sweet chocolate flavors up front and in the middle and the end is like a Hershey’s bar. Birthday Beer has a fuller mouth feel that is rich and sweet. Birthday has nice sweet coco finish. The after taste a sweet coco and chocolate cake taste that is wonderful. This beer is just as it is on the label. I say this is A+ and a really tasty beer. I highly recommend trying Shiner Birthday Beer Chocolate stout. I find it to have no faults at all. This is on great beer! Go out and try Shiner Birthday Beer Chocolate stout before it is gone! Cheers! Please enjoy responsibly!
